In Your Poetic Mind

My inner reflections feel
your whisper, your wings of thought &
simple poems speak of love and
desire, but there is no simplicity
where angels tread and eagles soar &
moments of time are gazed upon
in love and faith of the heart,
my heart but a single thread waiting
for you to weave together the colors
of us like the light from the sun or the moon
gathering it's flame from the same strength

We freely flow from the same stream blending
waters into the vast sea, yet I feel as
lonely as the pelican perched upon a hardened wood piling
driven deeper in drowning waters caught by the under toes of life
teach me your life, show me how it feels,
show me how it feels in the shadows of loss
you pull me in and I begin to see, I become what
others see me as, and still you touch me like no other,
but there are times I need a defense against my heart
expressed silently as my world takes shape
where underneath the wheels of passion you
leave me stranded as you have before

yet still you touch me

I like the feel of that last line especially, especially after all that has gone before. a touching way to end the piece.

I loved the feeling and oh, I don't know if there is any defense against a heart!

Loved this very much

VAS~ there are memories and people in life that touch us all....I do appreciate you coming in to visit one of mine.... Be well my friend

Kathleen~ you are correct, there is no """good""" defense against the heart, thank you for letting me know you enjoyed this.... be well

Janet Marie~ the many verses of life, some we keep as memoreis, some we may want to toss, but ohhh those few rare and precious ones.....we hold close....thank you always for your support, and for understanding
you to be well poet friend.....

I know that feeling. . . of being pulled in when you know that you shouldn't. . .

Greeneyes - this is beautiful, all the words that you write. I too, feel the touch.
