An Angel's Pace

I've lived many ways throughout my lifetime
Though at different speeds I ran
I now move along leaving a warm like breeze
And, at times I live on patience land...

I steal the identity of courage's pace
So, I walk without the tears
You give me wonder to what lies ahead in gold
That's where I stayed for all these years...

You take greed from my selfish heart
Then I walk reality's pace
Along it's sides is where I try to be
So, I can witness sunset's face...

The world is what you offer to me
You give light when my night is dark
I quickly move hours through wandering's pace
And, slide on rays to reach your heart

You take hate and leave it with a kinder pace
There is where we find new ground
Oh, how you take my guilt for you to carry yourself
Making way to where a thankful pace is found...

I know happy and I know hunger
I know beautiful and lies
But, always you take my pain to the rain
And, give shelter to my tear-filled eyes...

I love the pace of love when your path's cross mine
I give praise to that sadness you take
Throughout the days I look to meet you, My Friend
For I have flown and angel's pace...

Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak
I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps

do I believe we'd be better off apart?
can I see my world without you in it?
baby, not for a single minute...
