found your picture tonight
while cleaning out my room
took one long last look at it
as i put it in the box of your things

my heart sighed as i looked out the window
as the drops of rain hit against the house
the wind outside howling
perfect type of weather for how my heart feels

why did you do this to us
your endless lies and useless games
was there a point you were trying to make
or did you enjoy the pain you put me through

so tired of hearing your excuses
and how its you who now hurts
we all have our crosses to bear
yet we don't treat others--as you treated me

you still want to be my friend
how is that possible
when i no longer trust you
you killed our precious love with your hateful lies

i gave you my love, everything i had
you might as well have laughed in my face
ice now consumes my heart--
as jagged pieces of glass still lie embedded in it

looking at your picture
as the tears now rain down my face
i exhale deeply
as i put you and your memory aside

walking back to the window
i watch the rain for a bit
as i feel the last bit of love i have for you
fade with the passing of the night

Oh Amy, such an incredibly moving piece. So descriptive ... the feelings you've penned come through so vividly. You truly have a gift for exceptionally emotive writing. Very nicely written Amy ...

Best wishes and many, many hugs coming your way,
/Kit

Powerful, emotional. Sadly I look at this from the other side. Please know that if he does not understand or see what he did he will someday. Mistakes are always paid for.

Amy, I understand how this feels...'love' is a fickle thing sometimes. What we think is love turns out to be something quite different yes?

Sadly, I don't believe there is a 'perfect' love out there for everybody...I think we have to live our lives and keep hoping for 'true' love. In the meantime we can love ourselves and those closest to us...

lovely poem

I have a picture like that. And the hardest thing is putting it away...for good. Nice piece.

Powerful write, Aims...and, I'm with Severn...we should not live our lives endlessly searching for that 'one true love,' but spend our time cherishing those whose love we already have...yes, I must take my own advice... ...but, anyway, girlie, this was wonderfully written!

do I believe we'd be better off apart?
can I see my world without you in it?

Amy:

Your wish is my command.LOL! I'm now responding to one of your poems. I do think they all are amazing I just dont say it in here enough. This poem was very heart-felt and I am so sorry you were put through this kind of pain. I know how much you love like me and how much it hurts when its thrown away. Please like the others said don't lose that love...give it someone who will treasure it as the rare gift it is, not someone who will ruin it. Things will get better in time(I hope)

You've captured the hurt and anger here Amy.....how long can one misuse another human being, especially in the name of love.....it's nothing other than abuse and it's never been morally right......but it's a long old road that doesn't have a turn in it. Very well expressed Amy I could melt right into your mood....take care ethome......

with every word you heal...
with every new day your stronger...
its all part of a process that the heart must go thru in moving on and healing
heart tugging writing me girlie
one day at a time...capture it in rhyme
me

It's amazing
how you make your face just like a wall
how you take your heart and turn it off
how I turn my head and lose it all

Wow! Thank you for your heart felt words. I love it and I hate how your feeling. Remember that this experience will only make you stronger. That's exactly what it is, it's an experience that you will learn from. If you remember that, you will be ok. What I'm trying to say is that I too have learned from the same type of experiences.. It hurts deeply but we grow. Nice write.
