So Lost...In A Borrowed Title

I lay awake, eyes closed
checked my pulse,
knew I was still breathing
because my heart
was pounding it's rhythm in my ears.

With every rush of feel,
a thought would sound in my mind
warning me, how wrong I have been,
how the words
that always had meaning to me
were lost now.

So lost in my dreams of reality
where every word shared
meant the world to me.
Where every action spent
fed me hope:
that there was a place in this world
to surround me in comfort,
to clothe me in my every need,
to hold me in the arms of want; a love
that once again would bring me to
a fairytales ending.

Today, my TODAY,
the one of chance, happiness chance,
has taken me into the woods,
once more leaving me lost:
to fend for myself
to struggle through the vines that cling,
tripping me up over and over,
preventing me from reaching the edge
of the forest green, where the sun shone
and the rainbows spring to life after
a warm summer rain...

So lost... in a borrowed title
is my life.

~Wynter

*not a great day.....not a great poem, but a nicely borrowed title...thank you Dennis

Beautiful imagery, Wynter.

Reality, fantasy and love and how confusing they all are........

Wynter,

Nice poem. Tomorrow is always another day my friend. May it be a brighter one for you.

Wynter - you will find the happiness that you seek. Perhaps not tomorrow, or the next day, but you will find it.
