"A Little Magic"

just a child at the tender age of six
facing the cold world...feeling all alone
though she was just a child
she was forced to act grown

black days filled her life
when they should have been days of light
dark shadows consumed with alcohol and drugs
rage that always ended up in yet another fight

she always hoped for more
turning her life to the Lord above
praying that tomorrow would be brighter
that her hate crazed life would be one of love

sometimes dreams really do come true
all that you hope for becomes real
a little magic can occur if you believe
allowing your heart and soul to heal

the final fight almost costed them everything
she remembers it like it was yesterday
the blood...the hurtful words...the violence
now a part of her past, though she carries it with her everyday

she was given a new chance at life
and the kind of love that can last
she cherishes it all with her heart
never forgetting the dark shadows of her past

the day of her new start
an Angel graced her eyes
she took away the pain
her life was no longer filled with lies

the years ticked on by
as they often do
she never knew their time together would end
never had a clue

her Angel flew high above
to carry out the rest up there
the hole left inside of her heart
was almost too much to bare

then a miracle occurred
her angel, her mom spoke to her one day
she listened to her carefully
this is what she had to say

sometimes dreams really do come true
all that you hope for becomes real
a little magic can occur if you believe
allowing your heart and soul to heal

please believe me when i tell you this
never shall i leave you, not for a moment my dear
i'm everywhere you go and look
in the happiness and sadness of your tear

though we may be a part
in reality we are still together
always i will be your Mom, your Angel
and you my daughter, always and forever

she cried that day
but it was more of happiness that time
she's here with me now
in every word i write

she comes to visit me sometimes
in these wonderful pages of blue
and it is with great honor and pride
i share her with all of you

to any of you out there who are sad
and feel like you can't go on
today i pass this onto you
it is a part of my Angel's song

sometimes dreams really do come true
all that you hope for becomes real
a little magic can occur if you believe
allowing your heart and soul to heal

She must be the proudest Angel in Heaven everytime she reads your words of love. You have a great talent for putting the most intense of emotions into the most fitting of words.

Wow you will get no analyis here. Just to tell you your emotions were conveyed, struck real and deep.

A gift, indeed. For your sharing, My thanks.

This is, by far, one of the most beautiful things I've read lately, Aims...wonderful outpouring of your heart, here, girlie! Into the library it goes...but, I think you already knew that!

do I believe we'd be better off apart?
can I see my world without you in it?
baby, not for a single minute...

*tears in my eyes* I've never actually needed a poem as badly as I needed this one. Thank you......and especially for your kindness yesterday. You have become a cherished friend for me through your writings.

Hi,
Your poem touched me deeply. I was the a child that grew up too fast in order to survive. Your poem stirred all kinds of emotions inside of me. I look forward to reading more of your work.

This begins with great despair and ends with hope... and that is the magic of love... it can transcend anything, even death. *S* This is absolutely beautiful, Aimster... and I'm sure she is beaming with love and pride.
