I wrote this for a friend who's pet had just died Together Forever This side of heaven there is a very special place A sanctuary for pets who’ve run their last race They go here to await their master’s call To be reunited with them in our Master’s hall For when you go to heaven there you will find Waiting for you the pet who left you behind There they all are eager to hear your voice again As soon as you see them its goodbye to all pain It seems to have been a lifetime since you’ve parted A very long wait while you were there broken hearted But time for them has ceased to be it just stood still It seems to be moments since they felt your thrill They are all healthy and happy playing in the sun For them in this haven the fun has just begun All the hurts and the illnesses have faded far away Their lives are filled with comfort, warmth and play But when you appear they leave their new friends So glad and so happy that their wait is at an end They saw you coming to take them home finally Never to be parted throughout all times eternity And together you will walk though heavens door You both will be there at soul’s ease for evermore Peace will fill your soul and love will fill your eyes And together you’ll be forever under heavens’ skies Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning [This message has been edited by Marsha (edited 03-03-2001).] |
