Of Roses and Rapture

Stumbling through forest deep
Wandering endlessly
Trying to find place to sleep
Came upon an open glen
Amidst rapt beauty of rose garden
Enchanted cottage waits
As if they’re beckoning
Wearied travelers fates

Fair maiden under willow tree
I glance at her she looks back at me
With much hospitality
Greets and takes care wholeheartedly
My stay turns deeply more
Coupled they fall utterly into loves spell
Both had reasons that had befell
Hearts to question if
Someday to find true love within
Or weather just a myth

She planted seeds of hope eternal
Dreaming of he who shall
Show unwavering love for only her
He had searched far and wide
For she possessing true beauty within
Now both in desired union
Vows wanting to share of their ecstasy
Upon a plaque he carved
“Of roses and rapture to time eternal
True-lovers-knot tied in heaven we reside”

Upon that day they were wed
Finding that in-which desired most of all
A love so pure and complete
So if by chance you find a cottage
Wandering through forest deep
And upon a plaque it states
About pure loving ecstasy within
You’ve found your way to heavens gates
Do go in for true lovers reside therein

What a sweet read. I guess dreams really do come true. This was presented in a wonderful style and carries such an impact but it does so tenderly and with a careful attention to transition that the reader (or at least me) finds themself captivated without even knowing it. Truely a beautiful read.

Hi Mark,

I am so glad you feel that way, because I had a heck of a time trying to find a setting and a way to use the challenge phrase (of roses and rapture) and was worried it did not do so properly, again thank you so much.

Love, Cerenity

Hi Poeminister,

Thank you so much, I have to admit this was a hard phrase for me any way it took quiet some time to find just the right way to go about it, and im not to thrilled with the ending maybe I will find something better after I have been away from it, again thank you.

I could not find the one you did using this phrase did you do one or did I miss it?

Hi Kethry,

Thank you so much for your kind reply,
