Spring Fling
~*Marge Tindal*~

Spring awoke this morning
Rubbed the Winter from her eyes
Flung her quilt of hibernation
Back across a sunlit sky

Tip-toed to the window sill
Whereupon a Robin's trill
Summoned flowers from their beds
'Wake up ! Wake up ! You sleepy heads !'

Spring cavorted across the dawn
In shades of green upon the lawn
Awakened lilies from their sleep
Through the chill they'd slumbered deep

Showered in the dew of morn
Fling of Spring is reborn
Toweled in the glow of sun
What a season has begun !

Wafting of a perfumed scent
Orange blossom breezes blow
Spring has marched across this day
Oh, how I welcome it so !

Marge
Oh, how I loved this one. So elegantly written. Beautiful imagery. Your rhyme; exquisite. I so happy to have had an early "SPRING FLING"

Hey, Marge! I love it. Your control of language is superb. Especially the "toweled in the glow of sun." Now if it'd only stop raining. (pout)
