I Wish

I wish I could soar to the tall mountain’s height
On eagle’s spread wing in the swiftness of flight
So I could look down at the greeness below
Through eyes of the eagles and know what they know

I wish I could float on the back of a whale
Through waters of wonder to playfully sail
And dive to the depths of the ocean below
To be at the heart of the secrets they know

I wish I could cling to a jaguar’s soft tail
And follow him all through the rainforest trail
Along water’s edge where the Amazon flows
Consuming the splendor of places he knows

I would like to ride on a butterfly wing
I don’t think it odd to request such a thing
For I can go anywhere butterfly knows
In verses of poetry, anything goes

This is beautiful...anything goes in poetry, I agree...I'd like to do these things too.

Hi Liz,

Beautiful poetry here, and you are so right about going any were you want in your muse, I remember this trip I once took with a friend and I got to see a purple cow
