To Know harbored in the coming of purple’s twilight  embracing a belief searching for a star looking for one that outshines all others the first that would shine that night as the star rose into the heavens the wind rushed searching rushing to whoosh into her ears bringing along the words of the star in a whisper I am yours green eyes fastened onto the radiant white beam light-years away yet a stretch of slender hand, palm up, held the star aloft with gentlest touch like a star out of reach love is there, when you know and when you know, then the darkest blue-black of night will envelope you tuck you in keep you warm safe in the promise and in that promise, to know there is one, just as the first star is the one that, with a stretch of slender hand, palm up, you might hold the star aloft with gentlest touch brings the smile to know and to believe I am yours [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 02-27-2001).] |
