Forgotten Thorn

My eyes soften and I smile
as I remember the day we met.
Your adorable smile and soft nature
stole my heart before I even knew.
As time passed our love blossomed
and walls like petals tenderly opened.
Our souls intertwined... interlocked,
as we formed a bond, a rare connection
that only a lucky few will ever know.
Lost in a world of hazy rose softness,
I thought I found my eternal love.
My trusting heart took a chance,
forgetting every rose has it's thorn.
Thorns that cut so much deeper
that the sharpest knife ever could.
They leave scars forever imprinted on my soul.
Now the emtional agony of a breaking heart,
the anguished cries of a shattered soul,
and the memory of a your beautiful face
is all that remains in my crumbling world.

Written with great emotion, its the pleasure and the pain of love that keeps us coming back for more, we seek it out because we need its gifts. Thank you for sharing this, take care.

Regards,
Olias.

thorns of love, how deep can they cut in heart and soul...
but wondrous love can heal the wounds too...

you described your feelings so well

So true there is no such thing as perfection,
even in something that seems so good.
Well done..

JamesMichael - Thank you for taking the time to stop in.

OLIAS- You are more than welcome. As I have always said.. writing is my therapy and to be able to share it and express my emotions helps me more than anything could. Thank you for visiting.

Charisma - Thank you for the compliments and a big hug right back to you. I'm glad you stopped in to read.

Voiceless - I have learned that lesson. I thought he.. who this poem reguards... was as close as I was going to get to perfect. I have learned alot through the relationship... things I will carry with me now. I guess even though the situation ended.. there is still good to be found. Thanks for stopping in.
