Across The River Try

Standing on the bank of a mighty
river emotions run wildly,
the fortitude needed to begin my
journey is beyond my grasp
in almost ever form.

My heart desiring only truth and
clarity, sheets of crystalline
tears fall, for I am weak and in utter
dismay, a lifetime of trying has
only brought me here; yet another
challenge to meet,
pass over the river try.

Spending much time in the valleys
of despair, blindly believing
in the holy mountain of hope, never
quiet conquering the oceans
of why, surviving nights of shadowy
deceit, I now face another
soul-searching quandary why me?

Why has my sphere maintained such
tilt, the mighty river before me
runs up hill, continually at odds my gate.
My realm, which I reside,
seems to differ from that of most, was
I born on the plains of
indecision, has my opportunity for a
soundness of heart passed me by?

My triumphant conquest still eludes
wisdom gained, sky’s of
opportunity still shine brightly, yet
lack of understanding still
haunts my every move.

A pleading I admit to now, shower
me with knowledge, blanket
my exposed soul with loving empathy,
provide a vessel with the fortitude
to see beyond that which holds
me captive.

The mighty river try, “oh” how strong
your currents, across to the
other side my destiny, no alternate
coarse available, a pleading I
admit, please show mercies tender touch
and grant me the wisdom to
survive the voyage across the
mighty river try.

I like this a lot... especially the last two verses... We keep returning to its banks... Here's hoping your pleading is heard! *S*
