able not am I to see the waning light that followed thee along a path God led from me able not am I to see able not am I to speak those words of love in passion's heat forever lost in silence deep able not am I to speak able not am I to hear that golden voice close to my ear its warmth replaced with cold dense drear able not am I to hear able not am I to touch in evening's chill with tender trust that rosy cheek I loved so much able not am I to touch able not am I to breathe sweet scented air surrounding me in quiet times once spent with thee able not am I to breathe able not am I to cry no tears will flow about my eyes well maybe just a simple sigh.... able not am I to see [This message has been edited by Packratmike (edited 02-27-2001).] |

Beautiful, excellent flow. This is outstanding. Gentle and emotional. I loved this. Keeping, Keeping, Keeping!!!!! ![]() "The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new. Socrates |

Thanks JLR & dreamkeeper....I started this simple poem while caught in cross-town traffic. I began with just a simple phrase that stuck in my mind and a elaborated a bit when I got home. I'm glad you like it. |
