The Winter Holds

Whitened heavens seemed to fall
icing paths of future thought
edges sliding, leaving prints
to coat with crystals, glitter wrought.

Walked the whitened, felt the freeze
refreshments taken in my view
swept away, when comes the breeze
wonderflakes, this morning new.

My eyes beheld a scene of bright
amongst my grayness, palmed in hands
when reaching out, to capture white
to melt the coldness as it lands

Upon my cheeks, now rosey red
stirring memories, of moonlit stride
pacing steps, in each a thought
of strolling with my love beside.

Spring not far away and yet
the winter holds, I love it so.
It fires warmth within my soul
until the turn of seasons show.

Wynter - again, and what can I say, you write gorgeously. And, as far as winter goes, I believe it would be better in PA, than in AL. Ha....
