You know, we blame God for all that is bad We praise God for all that goes right Now if God can do both good and bad Why do we expect a meer man to do only right We blame God for death, failure, loneliness The sun doesn't shine or does too brightly Too much rain or none, heat or coldness The ground shakes, wind clears the land suddenly We think God is good for friends, family, life For the flowers from sun and rain The stars that glitter and moon glow at night With all we have from Him and more to gain What happens when you or I fail in anything Do we put the blame on us or the fault on God Because He made us, will all forever, time remaining Be because we tried, dreamed, cared or from that God No matter if I am at the bottom or on the top If all goes right or wrong or I just sat back All around life keeps going by with no way to stop And I know I tried, took the blame and faced the fact Forgive me Lord, for trying to command For thinking I can do all things better When the time comes and if before you I stand I'll know, your way, the only way, forever |

Yeah I have to agree I have always thought that all the God blamers were people trying to cop out of their life by finding someone to blame......but God created man/woman a free moral agent..with a mind.. to think and choose for himself.....why would one want to be a puppet and say...well just let God do good and handle everything...where would the satisfaction come from there....naw ! I want to be able to choose to love God on my own...he gave me the abilty to do so !!! We're all born in a state of imperfection and that's what we have to deal with...so when the bad things happen it's not God's fault...if God is a loving God he would'nt agree with all the terrible things that his creations have perpetrated...no we're on our own..a relationship we have to cultivate with him, a special place where we can talk and take the truth to heart I obviously enjoyed this piece you wrote.....take care The poet is like a cocoon; in him the caterpillar of the past finds rest, and from him the butterfly of the future emerges. |

ethome, I know what you mean. I am as bad as the next guy and forget to pray and praise when things are going well, but let things get bad and I am the first to get on my knees!! thank you and hugs, ME |

I believe that we are born with this void that only God can fill. Searching for God when we are in trouble, that we all do. Humans are not saints, and we are tempted every day. We have the free choice to do it or not. But I think that we are all given the opportunity to seek God at any point in our lives. It's just up to us. Welll written. A quarter of a century must pass, for the writer to understand what and why he writes. |

ME, Very thought provoking writing here. I think in the end, regardless of our choice, it ends God's way. He knows what is best for us and how much we can handle. I know I don't always remember him in the good, but we sure do when things are bad, don't we? Just need a friendly reminder of his power every now and then I think. Wonderful writing. LW Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |
