to write for you the end you seek,

May you find that pot of gold,
and all the secrets of her soul,
I would give her hand to hold...
were it mine to give.

All of your wishes would be granted,
exit I, the unenchanted,
All my heart, my words recanted,
to see a smile upon your lips.

So this I send out just for you,
I'll take your pain, if I can do.
Another loss is just small cost,
I'd give you leave, to see you live.

I don't believe in pots of gold
or leprechauns with wisdom untold
I don't cast pennies in to wishing wells
or ask the gatekeepers of their secrets to tell

I don't believe in fairy tales
or into sunsets happily ever after sails
I don't wish upon falling stars in the night
for they're only a fast fading spark of light

I don't even think I believe in forever love
I touched it once ... but it left on wings of dove
Most times I still believe in fate and destiny
and the truths found in the graces of poetry

But I do believe in kindred spirits becoming one
and I believe in you when day is done ...
for I've seen my own reflection in your eyes
and we've shared the secrets of our sighs.

Doreen? do check out the mirror pic...too funny! Do you guys think cloning has been going on longer than we suspect???

Lady...thank you much for reading...I have been enjoying your work as well, but have not replied to much as it was taking forty-five minutes per poem (my ISP was out to get me!!!) but thanks again!

Janet---what a beautiful poem you wasted on me...now you get back out there and post that one on its own!!!! Loved the graphics, and love you too. All is well...now where's my ChumbaWumba quote? Oh. "I get knocked down. But I get up again..." HUGS you!
