I saw her for the first on new hallows eve when the ghost walked and demons feed Yet her alone my eyes did see In the moonlight In my dreamworld On new hallows eve I saw her again when the snows came and the year feigned with heart and good cheer Her eyes sought me In the night In the snow On the eve of new year We loved for an evening But when morning came like a phantom in visions she dissolved in the rain A winter, a Summer A winter again I searched for those eyes but didn't see them again On the night of the 6th The winds that blew With her eyes still on me The winds spoke of her true. The wind brought her Outside to my door she appeared as if she had never been gone. We sat and looked at times long gone by at the past vivid in the love In my eyes In the morning my angel returns to the skies where she shone more beautiful than the stars. PART II As the planets turned My hair burnished silver My love did not dwindle In the autumn of my days I saw her again as the past turned to dust in my mind and the black Filled my world I saw her still As she was As she has always And will always be The beauty of eternity The beauty of death She holds my hand as we cross the Threshold A man always searching Never finding alone forever with his one true love The very deep did rot: O Christ! That ever this should be! Yea, slimy things did crawl with legs Upon the slimy sea. [This message has been edited by Walter Poe (edited 02-09-2001).] |

Excellent as always. You manage to combine mystery and depth simultaneously...loved the images of passing time too...LOVE your work! " Only those who risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go." T.S. Eliot |

just wonderful.... thunderous applause!!!!! Look within the heart of a poet, and you will see a reflection of their soul. |

Walter, This has a wonderful feel to it, many emotions are gently felt as I read it. I would suggest trying to find another word for the 6th stanza. Using again twice really detracts from the beauty of the piece. Well it feels that way to me anyway. I like the ethereal feel to this and almost a sense of caressing. |
