Posted With Janet Marie's approval - A sonnet developed from her recent "Traces" Post: The me inside of you, what I left behind The whisper in your heart, ghost of regret That trace of content, the mend in your mind The secret you keep deep memory inset Does the thought of me make your smile whole The love we’ve shared, is it held in your heart Did my footprint leave a stain on your soul Or my love bring peace? Did my love leave a mark When you cry am I reflected in your tears Am I inside you, a treasured memory Have I inspired the direction of your years Looking at our love do you feel destiny For these are all with me engraved in my heart I cherish our love, on me there’s your mark Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes. ~ Chinese Proverb ~ |

I'm not a great writer - not even a good one really but I couldn't help contrasting ths poem with the one I just posted - it seems a strange coincedence. I felt better reading it as I had just written mine if it is true that the world talks toomuch then let us all keep quiet and hear the eloquence of silence - Richard Ntiru |

Mendy, "traces" seems to be the theme for the past few days....I'll read yours soon... Mr. Yeats, this is absolutely wonderful! But then, you have a fan here, and you know it! Thank you for sharing this with us! I know you won't mind my librarying it.... |

For these are all with me engraved in my heart I cherish our love, on me there’s your mark =============== This is lovely Bill ... I especially love the last summation lines... they perfectly captured what I was trying to convey in my poem. THANK YOU so much for this honor... thank you for finding your inspiration in my words... and this treat is made even sweeter being given as a sonnet... you make them look easy gifted poet sir. you have my poetic repsect and my envy Tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy ~VH~ |

Wonderful Sir. . . a treasure on its own. . . ------------------------------------------------------- To the world, you may only be one person. But to one person, you may be the world. |

I am trying to think of new ways to say wonderful, beautiful, marvelous, and full of truth. I am failing, but this poem certainly succeeds in being all those things. To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

Everyone (and especially Janet Marie) - I feel so guilty not replying to each of you individually - yet my available time on PC has become very limited - and I'd much rather use what little time I have to read and respond to your poems. Thank you all very much - And special thanks to Janet Marie for the beautiful inspiration. (any time you want to try a sonnet girl - I'd be quite pleased to assist in any way I can) |

Beautifully done sir. She does have a way of inspiring us and YOU have a way of capturing the reader in every work you share with us. Great read for sure. If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |

This was resting quietly in my library... and it brought back many wonderful memories of a very wonderful poet... thank you, Janet Marie, for being such an inspiration to Mr. Yeats! |
