Once upon a time in a land far away A daughter of morning was born on this day With sunshine for hair, a voice light as air and eyes dark enough to take breath away This daughter of morning, child of the sun Lived her solitary life in communion of one In her garden bright Alone day and night Till the witches weave of curse was undone Each lonely day she sat by the brook Playing her games or reading a book Singing her song In a voice that did long For another to come, though he be prince or crook The mirror reflected a lonely lost heart This was how it would be, but how did it start? The solitary one Who sat in the sun, What was her story, and what was her part? One day in the morn as she sat by the brook Just looking to space not reading her book With a heartfelt sigh A miracle did spy An image in water caused her to look What did she see in the water so clear? She saw a knight with a visage so dear Her pounding heart Made yearning start And vowed she to leave, her lonely life here Slipping away through gate and by wall This lovely lady did so gingerly call Her vision of beauty The reflected cutie She'd seen in the brook as he'd climbed on the wall Having lived her life with no-one to care She fell into the arms of the first person there Without a fight Gave into the knight Who was not what he seemed, no accident there The knight was no lover he was on quest Looking to find innocence blest In the maiden fair He espied there He smiled as he held her, brought a knife to her breast. This knight spent a moment in happiness then Believing such innocence had come close to his ken He needed the trophy For his master Brophy He raised the knife high, stabbed again and again And as blood flowed forth, her heart now stilled He looked at the beast he had bravely killed Returning to form With hooves and a horn The word of the witch had at last been fulfilled. Thanks for stopping by and reading, sorry about the scary bits Cat, I was trying to write a story with a twist when it changed viewpoints, I guess it got a little too twisted. I can re-write the ending for you if you like. email me and let me know whether you want a happy ending a blissfully happy ending trouble and a happy ending or a they got married not so happy ending.
