I Have Loved You I know now these words will never let you truly go on But, it's my effort to show you where we've been all along And, so we lie apart with your mind and it's wonder of how I feel In your carrying of anger instead of searching what was really real... All of my life it was you that I carried here in my heart How often I wondered what you were like when years kept us apart But, I have loved you even before I ever saw your face Just finally our presence together was when I found my place... Don't ever believe my heart was never on your side For I walked many miles in life holding you inside We had the seasons for proof that we shared a common ground And, how the earth was a part of the love we found... Oh, I sure have loved you on a warm summers night With just the stars overhead and their peaceful light And, how I loved you when in the air was a hint of dawn Cause, I loved you there the whole night long... We have loved when you wanted to love and we shared that space We loved while fall winds moved the leaves that fell with grace Just a chill of the winds we sure kept one another warm And, still loved as God gave us the harsh winter storms... Oh, I have loved you while white filled the fields of brown And, I loved you as each tiny flake fell down For the snow was just another season we went through Oh, how beautiful white sure looked on you... So, we may lie apart now but it can never be taken back And, these memories will remain as long as the seasons last Just never doubt that I just did the best I could in life May your heart show you someday I only did what was right... Saun Sauni :) Have you ever known the color grey when the nighttime finds you weak I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps |

Saunni~ Written with longing ... 'For the snow was just another season we went through' Such a poignant metaphor ... Nicely portrayed emotions. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Loved this last stanza!! So, we may lie apart now but it can never be taken back And, these memories will remain as long as the seasons last Just never doubt that I just did the best I could in life May your heart show you someday I only did what was right... |

Oh you have made me think of all the time we spend admiring love and desiring love and then when we have an opportunity to act upon all of our feelings do we really have the ability to express all those feelings that were within our heart...love is feelings and love is expression and love is caring and love is action...I am in a relationship and I hope and pray that I can express my love and share my love...James |

this is excellent writing ... your cadence and rhyme in this is superb ... and the imagery, metaphors and comparisons are outstanding .... all poetically perfectly laced with the sincere and beautiful emotions... wonderful writing Saunni very well done Tomorrow holds only mystery And who's to say what might be But in you I've found a love so strong The sun and the moon look on in jealousy ~VH~ |

I read a poem earlier tonight that reminded me of something I'd read before, so I searched my library and there is was. So sad that it, as that tonight...is written in the past tense. |
