Understanding butterflies

One things for certain you don't have to tell a butterfly how or when or why to fly.
They have no particular reason for what they do.
They just spread their beautiful wings without a goodbye
and before you know it they're soaring high in the sky.

Another certainity.
Someone that doesn't want to be with you is not sticking around
no matter how you beg, steal or lie.
No matter how hard you try.
No matter how much you cry.
Blink your eyes and kiss them goodbye.
They'll be gone, long gone  before you open your eyes.
The best you can do is let them go wherever they want to go.
The sooner they get on their way the sooner you can find one who might want to stay.

All I can say is fly butterfly.
And someday perhaps I'll understand butterflies.
And until that day I will not try to understand why
I had to say goodbye to my beautiful silky butterfly.

May your next butterfly...
not be a flutterby...

This one misted my vision...a little...

Very tender...

I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...

James ,I can llok back at poems that my love wrote me and things he said and promised and now know that my butterfly has also flown. The tradgedy of it is that the love is bittersweet and hurts cause it was truly meant by me and is still felt with agony. It also leaves one with a sense of "What's wrong with me?" when nothing is wrong with you or with I. I can only hope to go forward and that time will heal. I so empathsize with you right now. I wish there were something to relieve it. take care, friend...aloha!

Passion,imagination
and intellect
running together...
Poetry in motion~~~

Aloha with
warmest regards, Koko

Butterflies are beautiful creatures that cannot be held down without damage......they are ours to watch and cherish, and they will come to us to land on our sleeves and touch our hearts, and share their freedom with us!
This is a wonderful, and heartaching write, my friend......it shows me that there are those who love enough to let go!!

A butterfly isnt what you need my friend...sure they are beautiful and whimsical and they capture our imagination...but as you say...they flit off without a thought for you or I...love this one James

James,
This butterfly thanks you for letting go, so gracefully, of your butterfly. May the next not be a flutterby, but alight on your heart and stay.
