Earth By WhiteKnight Earth, Just a chunk of rock, Circling the sun, Not much fun. Like so many other Specs of dust, I stop to wonder, Is it just? Just a chunk of rock Off some big block? Let’s look, At the world, As it cooks. Will it ever be done? Just dirt, And rocks, Water too. Mud I tell you. Wait what is that I see? Coming from beside that rock, Is it? Could it be? It is! A tree. Life! I see! The Earth is more, Then just a tree. It is home to you and me. Do you dare? To show you care, For our home? Do you love our home? Where we roam? Show you care, Do your share, Help clean our home. |

You make me love this...and then you make me think twice about my job....I hereby resolve to try to do MORE by computer [proofing] and less by paper....[I despise thinking of the trees that we go through].... so....you made me both feel, AND think... that, Sir, is a poem well done! |

I love the way you've expressed this - a solemn thought with a lighthearted touch - has more impact than a 'preachy' approach. Lary |
