Inanity Virginia Salter The moon came over the mountain as the stars fell into the sea The coins dropped into the fountain to make a wish for me. A friend is as good as a mile a miss, quite good, you see The pigs flew over the stile and the bumble went off with the bee. The morning had broken at the crack of dawn As daybreak shattered my world All flags rose to the mast of half so valiantly unfurled. The breeze of the sea seemed enchanted the salt air seasoned just right We’d strode where our feet were planted as the day dissolved into night. © January 29, 2001 |

Virginia...I liked the rhythm of this piece...second verse especially reminded me of Lewis Carrol a bit! Was very visual for me...thanks. |

Thanks so much, serenity. I wrote this this morning after reading a verse regarding a "List of Poet's Nevers" on another forum. If you'd like to see the delightful piece, go to www.voy.com/1001 and it's by Heartfelt. I think you'll enjoy the read. |

Just want you to know that I spelled the title exactly the way I wanted. I didn't mean insanity, although it may be insanity to coin inane in that form. |
