“MY JOB AND ME” Bill Charles ~~~~ It’s not that I dislike my job, it just gets in my way, of my personal life, and there is more I can say… It takes up too much of, my precious free time, and when I get paid, it feels like I made, one thin dime… Every week I work forty hours, maybe fifty or so, but it’s not appreciated, that much I do know… I feel like I’m working, my whole life away, and I don’t have much time, to go out and play… When I’m at work, I can at least sit and dream, about things I want to do, but don’t get a chance, it would seem… But one of these days, that job of mine, and I, are going to part ways, and I’ll say goodbye… So watch it job, I’m warning you, my day is coming, then I’ll be able to relax, and do some stuff, or something… Perhaps write some poetry, or do some prospecting, maybe find a woman, and show her what she’s missing… I’ll say this one more time to you, “Get lost job!”, and that woman I talked about, she’ll be my heartthrob… So please don’t forget, for your going to see, that there will be a divorce from, “My Job And Me”… ~~~~ |

Bill, this tickled me for some reason, as I feel exactly like that. Work persists in interfering with life, yet we are forced to participate in things we don't necessarily care about, for pure survival. What a rat race! And this poem said it all. May I use it for my next resignation..lol? Sandra |

Poet deVine - I have had days like that also, cleaning up someone else's mess. How is it that someone else's problem becomes my problem? Haven't figured that one out yet. Coco - You do write generous words about my writings, and I thank you. And the pen will stay full, as I write away into the sunset. catalinamoon - this tickled me also, when I was writing it. The more I wrote, the more tickled I felt, as I felt that way too. But as you mentioned, we have to survive somehow. And yes, make a copy, and put it on your manager's desk when you resign. Ha, bet he would be surprised. |

Who hasn't felt that way sometime? I like the idea of using this as a resignation letter. At least you'd leave them smiling! To love another person is to see the face of God. - Les Miserables Marilyn |

I think you better cut back a little from work now, and start hunting for that woman. If you wait for retirment you may of forgotten what you were wanting to show her she was missing. |

Hello kcsgrandma, I'm gonna, I'm gonna do it. Use this one as a resignation letter! And I bet you're correct, it will leave them laughing, and me smiling. inot2b - I have done both, cut back from work, and hunting for that woman. But of course, they will be lowering me in the pit, and I'll still be thinking of what she didn't know she was missing. After I found her that is. Hehehe Victoria - I read inot2b's reply, and did the same. Really a super reply for this verse. Thanks for coming over. Nan - why thank thee, as I also agree. It's gonna happen, I can feel it. nakdthoughts - I'm glad that I made a little sense with this one. Just wanted to do a little something different, but it even makes sense to me. |

Bill I have read the replies and I think you have captured our hearts on this one for we all have felt at one time or another, exactly the same way. Enjoyed the writing. Ariana |
