Kiss the wind, inhale it's breath, taste the scent of the soul's it swirls around your face, your skin, feel the touch of the redman's kin, hear their songs, their battle cries, their love for family, friend, see the sights they saw back then, watch the lives that will never be seen again. Kiss the wind, feel the sun, admire the clouds, see the waving prairie grass, swirling, rolling, whipping to and fro, dancing before the gusts; See the hawk circling high, the crow, the lark, the deer, the rabbit, the buffalo. Kiss the wind, dream the dream peyote induced, walk with ancestors, speak with the wolf, fly with eagles, see the changing the future brings, the passing of the Life, the dwindling of the People, the times of change, the fight to live. Kiss the wind, close your eyes, taste the blood spilled on the plains, feel the breath exhaled for good, see the lives that shimmered and died, watch the souls drifting by, see the tears in the redman's eye, because he Lived, he had to die. w. james beard, jr. © January 2001 [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 01-28-2001).] |

Thanks my friends, my soul, though not of their blood, will always walk with them in their past, present and future; they epitomize what I believe. jwesley |

JWesley~ And upon the kisses of the wind Your thoughts you gently send, a spirited inspiration of honor to those of the Indian nation. I do admire your convictions to the cause of seeing the tributes come to rest with the world. You would be a welcome friend at the hearth of many. Thank you, my friend. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Hey James I really go deep with this stuff because I am such a lover of the earth, the wind, the mountains, the plains, the oceans and the skies and all the great mother's elements that contain such magnificent beauty! You did a wonderful job on this James and I compliment you.... this is a wonderful tribute to these people of the earth these simple but magical people who reflect the truth of our very existence. Keep those thoughts flowing it's important! ethome |

Jwesley, this is the first I've seen in awhile, but you may have posted some anyway. This place is so busy that it's hard to keep up with it. Enjoyed the imaging and vision of this one. Well done! |
