Well, I wasn't going to post anything today, but reading Doreen Peri's thoughts about wanting to know how men and women could understand each other better made me do this. So Doreen, this is all your fault!! I'm so tired of being told I'm from Venus Do you see anntennae sticking out of my head? Or pale green skin? Do I have an extra breast on my chest? Or talk with a voice never heard? No, I don't have any of those things. And neither do you. I know that you've been told you're from Mars, and that that's the reason you are the way you are But you know, I can't really buy that, although others have. Here's a news flash! I'm from Earth and so are you. And here on this planet we listen, it's the thing to do, But for some reason, all you want to do is talk and make sure that I can hear you. Well, have you ever wondered that maybe I need to talk too?? Listening is a two-way street. It's the thing that makes life complete. Just imagine if you could hear me and I could hear you, The things we could hear, the problems we could get through! But, you're still out there in the stars On that planet they call Mars And I'm still stuck here on Venus With all these problems still between us. If only we could both come back to Earth, Where both of us were given our birth. To talk in the same voice and to listen, We'd find out exactly what's missing. But no, you chose to be there, a million miles away. And right now, I've only got one thing to say. I really, really hate John Gray! passion is life. . . ~Diana |

a bit of light-hearted wisdom and a whole lot of truth in the write, my friend. Blame it on whoever, but the heart was yours. Enjoyed this much. jwesley |

applause!excellent! thing is, though, you are absolutely right about it being a 2-way street and recently it was pointed out to me that i'm the one who doesn't listen well enough.... and sometimes i think we take turns in that, unfortunately. i'm VERY happy to hear you know what planet you're on! and clearly, you are a very wise women! BRAVO! and thank you for writing and posting this! (sometimes this whole issue gets my head spinning! *sigh*) |

Does it count if my feet and head remain on earth but my heart is in the stars????? ( I know.....no need to say it)LOL If all of us were required to take a course in listening before we ever were allowed to come in contact with another human being then we might all be better off. Excellent write my friend. Isn't it nice to find a poem that really inspires you to pull one out that just sings to help cleanse the soul? If you find yourself stranded in a storm ...then reach for my hand and we will play in the puddles together |
