Winter Sonnet Murmuring hollow wind of north cross across this field of yours through the winter scene be seen promising soon yon fields of green for snow now cast scenery white snow fairies have played the while casting about their sortilege right to bring forth these guileless smiles cumbrous laden each barren branch with cleansing crystals of frozen tear so there in the midst one stands staunch as if frozen with mercurial fear but break in winter's wind will cease and with the spring, again, to breathe 01.27.01 Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Thank you my friends....although I've been told of special rules to follow in sonnets, so please, disregard the word "sonnet" and continue to enjoy as a poem, and wait...just wait...I'll get the hang of a true sonnet yet...for I am no quitter!... |

Sonnet or no Sonnet....this poem paints a beautiful picture. Sometimes there are much more important things than sticking to rigid guidelines. |

Thank you....but sometimes, rules make the work and sweat of a poem that much more precious....and one of these, y'all will have a precious sonnet just waiting for you to read.... perhaps I shall work on one this weekend... wish me luck! And thank you for your beautiful replies! |
