Tell me please if we were to make love would we still remain friends? Would you be able to face me in the morning after my having spent the night sleeping in your embrace? Would we still hold each other in the high regard that we do now, or would you have lost respect for me? Would you turn your back on me, thinking I am now unworthy of your friendship, your devotion, your affection? Would we change somehow in the light of dawn, or would it just be me, dirty and shameful, because I crossed that line? As I am in need of love, tenderness, you... tell me please, if we were to make love, would we remain friends? This is the reason that I don't sleep with my friends. All it does is lead to horrible things. We can't ever be the same. Though sometimes it is better; I do still feel strange the morning after. Well, this was a wonderful piece that made me have to stop and think about things again. Thank you Love, Lady Live in my world just once and you'll find yourself enraptured. |

What a beautiful way to question what would happen. Sorry I don't know the answer. I married my best friend and he still is my best friend. I do admit I didn't sleep with him til we married. That was the way it was in the prehistoric times. |

You know, love isn't about going to bed with someone, it's about waking up in the morning and facing the world with them. Thanks for posting. "Where there is great love there are always miracles" -Cather "Love heals everything, and love is all there is"- Zukav |

A Whisper's Caress, Excellent write, don't have answers, you can never really know how things will change for sure...but all I can think is that if theres mutual desires for it, it should not change things negatively..but you never know afer IT. ..enjoyed the read... take care, Poeminister "...no single sound too rude upon thy slumber shall intrude, Our thoughts, our souls- O God above! In every deed shall mingle, love." -Poe |

Everyone, thank you all so much for the kind responses, and the advice. I don't really need it, as it would be impossible to act on my feelings for this person, but I do appreciate it. And I agree, things would change. Thanks again... Look within the heart of a poet, and you will see a reflection of their soul. |

It certainly is a difficult feeling and emotions are very powerful. I would say it's almost certain to change things, but for the good? I don't know! In either case, it's an honest expression you've given us and food for thought. Oh, jeez, there I go thinking of food again! What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the words I have read in my life. Walt Whitman |
