Friendship Feast Karen Torbiak 2000 Sitting in quiet contemplation my spirit quests In search of the friend whose words I cherish My quest leads across country wild and tame to come to rest on furthest shore again This friend of mine whose sings so true with words to share from ocean blue I read his words and let them sing deep inside the heart of me Words shared through space and time letting friends each other find Friends found through mutual sharing of life’s emotions filled with caring Then the fantasy takes me as I fly to him on the back of a dragon of midnight black My friend come fly with me to worlds I would share with thee Climb aboard this mighty beast that we may join the friendship feast Wings spread wide to lift us both beyond this world that holds us back With wind whipped face I laugh aloud that I can share the air up here Sun warming us as we fly with playful fun amid the clouds that make us one Amid blues and golds we land on shores where waves lap endlessly The feast laid out with choicest bits refreshing to these souls rejoice The beauty of the fare was spread upon cloth of white in open air Served up with beauty and perfection compassion, love, understanding, acceptance are partaken Washed down with the light red wine are words of caring to quench the thirst of friends divine Too soon the feast comes to an end and back to their world are sent these friends As the mighty winged beast takes them home they embrace knowing they are not alone Friend of mine on distant shore I share this day with you and wish for more Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. Startime, now that is a quest, a wonderful write from you. I really love this one, but then I am always enthalled by dragons, kings and even the odd princess in the tower. Really well done. Take care Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
