I remember the sheets that flowed free
in the wind of a summers day,
gently covering my face and hands
in those times I had alone.
Such was my life of being young,
those days colliding into one another
seeking my heart to triumph
and pushing me away.
In a two step memory, I fade
to gray skies that darken
pulling me to a new hope
of lost transgressions comfort.
Seeking some solace in my growing
I followed through the door
of a city scape wonderland
that strips the rich and dresses the poor.
Not for confession, nor for my sin
I collapse upon her breast,
letting my soul flow out
in back street confidence’s made pure.
Dance the night, make the stars my home
shake hands with those fallen angels
that find me laughing at the wind
for its folly and remorse.
But true to my hand I see
my passion rise again,
and with new love in my heart
I take journey’s first step.
