The mask you wear,
Scattered and dishevelled
Fails to fool me.
Fabricated righteousness,
Imitation morality,
Simulated benevolence.
My eyes see your true form;
Your guise is weak.
A cape for tyranny,
Enshrouds deception.
Ostensible conscientiousness.
Your outer-self suggests falsities;
Blamelessness, decency, honest.
Your inner-self screams chaos,
Venality, dishonesty, greed.

Your disguise is frail.
Tired and worn you flaunt
An untarnished image.
They may submit to pretence,
I don't.
I won't.
Sleep weary falseness;
Rise true oppressor.
Illusive trustworthiness,
False deservedness.

I see you.
Those who are spellbound
Will fall.
I'll stand strong,
Immune to your charms.
I see beneath,
Scattered and tired,
The mask you wear.

Down with the fakers and shakers..*G*

Write on!

I love the time
and in between
the calm inside me
in the space
where I can breathe...

Irish Rose - all sinners underneath we may be....thank goodness some of us have the strength and capacity to keep our darker sides contained huh? Hehe *smiles*

Breathe~ - Hear, Hear!!! But there are so many of 'em!... How will we ever knock them all down? *smiles*

Startime - Isn't it ironic how the 'Masked One' always pursues the most vulnerable and need hearts and leaves the strong ones alone? Let's hope evolution is not yet complete and that the human heart becomes stronger in a final adaptation.
I return your love and hugs, thanks! *smiles*

Wow...this is a most powerful read. Due to my absence from the pages of passions, this is the first poem I've read from you, but most certainly not to be my last
