A Moment in the Sun Standing in the summer sun Feeling its heat and light soak Into my skin like vapors Of a dream, almost forgotten But clinging, desperately for Memory. The green grass dances at my feet And the Winter’s Run rolls along its Watery path, forming, giving birth To the banks along the sides In the white foam of its Being. And my eyes are open wider Than any day so far in my life As I watch, I hear, I feel And it is life that speaks to me With hushed tongues of wisdom Secrecy. In this moment I am more than human I am man, tree, water, god I can fly with the eagle and burrow Deep within the earth like the fieldmouse I am love, knowledge, existence Whole. With the word, I am mighty, with the pen I am free.. dragonpoe |
