I haven't written in a few weeks, so I am a bit rusty, here is an attempt at rekindling my poetic fires.

I have chanced
a glance
behind the wall
And had to pause
for a cause
that caught me unaware...

My eyes they misted
my hands fisted
but a dream came to mind
You sat so still
as if to will
the very earth to cease...

Your beauty rare
I so unprepared
to experience your light
Unless I may
find no words to say
I stayed low behind the wall...

A child was I
in your mature eye
my giggles, your laugh
How could you
find love true?
in a little girl like me...

I chanced again
upon a whim
and looked over the wall
You looked down
on my startled frown
and laughed and kissed
me on the cheek...
