I AM

I am what I am and what I am is just that
I wonder whose secret rests under my hat
I hear angels and demons struggle within
I see hearts being broken in rages of sin
I want to know who I am as a matter of fact
I am what I am and what I am is just that

I pretend that I am something but truly I'm not
I feel like a million but that's not what I've got
I touch my heart to make sure I'm really alive
I worry that I am not and my soul took a dive
I cry out for those who've become a mere stat
I am what I am and what I am is just that

I understand everyone has a place on this Earth
I say we all become something even from birth
I dream of a place where people are as should be
I try to live life what is and not live what could be
I hope these characteristics my Father begat
I am what I am and what I am is just that
