Midnight falls upon a garden still classical music drifts from Victorian window sill tall iron gates, gently pushed apart gliding onto grass, she awaits melody's start Music fills her soul she leaps into the air gracefull arms outstretched she dances unaware smell of musky roses scent air in sweet perfume she, an apparition in the pale of midnight's moon He watches from the terrace, enthralled by her sweet face mesmerized, he follows every movement done with grace staring, captivated under some hypnotic potion the ball inside forgotten to watch this poetry in motion Drawn as moth to flame by the sound of violins a delicate butterfly that flutters sweetly on the wind phenomenon that tresspassed beyond tall iron doors a fairy princess seduced by classical music’s lure A vision she was so long ago limber body, full of grace ponytail, ribbon, youthful glow fairy dancer drawn by fate Music, coming to an end She, poised to take flight the thought of seeing her never again, would haunt his days & nights He called to her she glanced his way with such a curious face timid gazelle in still of night lovely, pure, & chaste She floated away upon her toes as if she were carried by clouds He knew that shew would haunt his dreams Even in the here & now… Midnight falls upon his garden, still on his terrace, he waits to be fulfilled classical music drifts in tempting lure praying he might see her dance once more… -Tier{Robin} 6/99 [This message has been edited by Tiersdin (edited 01-04-2001).] |

Hello Robin, In reading this lovely music in words I found myself identifying first with the graceful lady and then with the feckless man. Sounds like it was written from an almost hidden memory. Who was this man who is identified with classical music? And do I hear a symphony? |

I hestitate to use the word "beautiful" as it is almost not enough to describe this one... but it is...so much. "Every man dies. Not every man truly lives." Braveheart Kathleen |

Gymnopedie No. 1 by Erik Satie that's what this reminded me of. . . a soft, delicate piece of music for piano. . . later orchestrated by Debussy. . . but. . . yes. . . definitely this piece. . . wonderful Robin. . . -------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |

Hello, Stan, I'm glad you enjoyed reading the poem. The work is purely fictional, I assure you, at least in a physical sense... *smiles* BloomingRose, Thank you for your wonderful comment! Irish Rose: So sweet of you to say such kind words! Catalinamoon: I was going for just that effect. Thank you for telling me that I'd succeeded! *smiles* Corrine: Thank you for reading and commenting... Sven, I've yet to hear the peice you've mentioned, but I will look for it now... *smiles* thank you for commenting... -Tier{Robin} |
