I can remember when
The laughter didn't end
We'd frolick in the snow
The concept of time we didn't know

My mind recalls the day
We rode snowmobiles across the bay
The lake a sheet of ice
Nature's beauty was very nice

We traveled through the woods
Where the tallest firs stood
In a clearing we stopped
Making a bonfire that popped

Then we roasted hot dogs
Out in the wilderness over logs
They've never tasted as grand
As they did on that land

I can see the red bridge
Up near the steep ridge
It takes me to a time
When winter was in her prime

A sweet poem that will bring memories to us all.  Nothing is ever as beautiful or whimsical as it is when we are young.  This poem is both sweet in sentiment and also evokes a sad longing, and hits the reader both ways so that they experience both fond happiness and yearning for the past - excellent technique, well that's how it affected me anyway

Ah!....yes I know what you mean and the days seemed to last forever with each one filled with a new world of exciting experiences... now I find they go by too fast...or maybe it's that I don't take the time to enjoy them like I should....I just absolutely loved this! It took me back and refreshed my very soul....thank you so very much....ethome
