A young lover of sixteen I flew through your pages and read much too quickly. How I missed so many things of you, the way of you, the depth of you. When moonlights verse fell gently and the steel blue skies of joy descended I read on and yet they did not cloud my eyes. Each chapter, every line revealed your penmanship where passions flowers bloomed and isn't it strange how fresh each paragraph was read like morning rain? But through the years I placed you on a shelf; dog-eared promises and yellowed vows that gathered dust though still maintained. Bound in an epic still unfinished and if I had only known, I would have read you from a June summer to the snowfall of forever. One day I opened you again and found new words and more and through burning eyes I shed the tears for I read you as I had never read you before. I bled through with pain and yet doors that had been closed were still unlocked, and now opened again in the library of my heart. And when, through age, my failing eyes succumb, my fingertips will read you once again, my dearest, every line and every worried brow in sweet Braille. For you once wrote of loving me. And when my hands fold in death and others read an empty stone they will know I took you with me for only with eternity can I read you, my love. Because for all of you I read, I will also there, be free to read again of loving you. For heaven will sustain the many volumes of our love, so finely penned and only there can I read with angelic eyes that shall never dim I will forever read you. < !signature--> Emily [This message has been edited by emily (edited 01-02-2001).] |

When moonlights verse fell gently and the steel blue skies of joy descended I read on and yet they did not cloud my eyes. A very tender piece, beautiful. enjoyed the read.
