Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance, Behind thy mask, pain hides in masquerade, Whilst I await, outside stone walls perchance, Thy heart will cede, unto mine escalade. Beauteous charms, protected by seclude, Within the fortress of thy inner soul, Thou beauty banished to thy solitude, I pray to gods, thee hears my heart's extol. As moth to flame, am drawn to sensous charms, Yet only feel, the ice of pain's accost, Will ever I, feel warmth within thine arms, Or ever be, turned back by damsal's frost? To thee I beg, feel heat of pure love's dance, Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance. Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance, Thine pulchritude doth fuel mine vassal's quest, Why doth thee hide from prick of Eros' lance, Whilst play, Apollo's lute at his behest? From forth thy lips, thee touch with welkin charms, But in the night, alone in slumber sleep, Doth not thee yearn, the touch of lover's arms, In warm embrace, whilst in thy chamber keep? What pain hast pierced the veil of thy desire, Caused thee to hide, within stone castle's wall? Thee speak of love, all court doth feel thy fire, But thee deny, love's touch when it doth call, Thy welking charms, are song without love's dance, Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance. Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance, O' hide thee not, behind thy cloistered wall, Speak not of flames, when all I ask is chance, To have thy charms, within mine heart enthrall, To gaze again, upon thy tender grace, To hear again sweet songs of Terpsichore, That flow as mead, from forth angelic face, I beg of thee, on bended knee implore, Deny me not, entry in thy fiery keep, For as spring rains, shall breech thy battlements, As in mine arms, shall cease thou endless weep. Break down thou walls, feel warmth of love's entrance, Reveal thyself, thou damsal of romance. [This message has been edited by Mike (edited 01-01-2001).] |

She hearkens to entreaty for romance. Through shroud of gossamer her vision all, Yet cleaves to solitary circumstance From chambered turret staves off suitors' call. En masse attending her as thurifers, All gentry of the kingdom meed her praise Like strutting peacocks proudly chanting verse; Beseeching Damsal's hand for future days. Whilst she seeks sanctity in dream's repose, Entranced withal by heart of noble knight - Seclusion her behest of self impose, Still reaping vantage from the castle's height. Though maiden's vow she shan't be led askance, She hearkens to entreaty for romance. She hearkens to entreaty for romance; Fair Damsal hast naught heart in cast of stone, But waits for knight's return with sprightly lance. Bereft of noble sire she dwells alone. This gallant knight holds heart of maiden fair. His quest grand kingdom's enemy to quell 'Til his return her troth unto her laird In sooth fidelity till solemn knell. Fair Damsal waivers not from staid avow 'Tis said by day she tats a lover's cloak Erstwhile complete take suitor to her brow But with each nightfall untwines daily stroke Beveiled Damsal from wistful turret stance, She hearkens to entreaty for romance. She hearkens to entreaty for romance, In waiting for her gallant knight's return "At one with sword" 'pon mighty steed aprance, Thence magic'ly dispel her pendent yearn. Enraptured with fair maiden's pulchritude, Professing love whilst kingdom's suitors pine; His lance held high to quash incertitude, Grand chivalry matched underlings' combine Though visaged war hath pillaged noble flesh, Beloved knight in face of swain disguise, With Fair Damsal beseeches life's refresh. Pure adoration in reflective eyes. She'll only then submit to love's entrance. She hearkens to entreaty for romance. [This message has been edited by Damsal (edited 01-03-2001).] |

Very well done Mike. It's nice to see that the sonnet is not dead! I will be watching for more. Sing while you may -The Prophet Qa'sepel Your pain is for you alone, As it is, As it was, As it will be forever, Amen -The Prophet Qa'sepel |
