I’m addicted. It was all so simple just a few short hours ago. It was all about the celebration. It was just a party. But now, I’m crashing. I didn’t know I was getting high. It was just a gathering of friends. I didn’t know it would happen. But now, I’m crashing. I knew I was addicted, but I thought I could fight it. I didn’t expect it to be there. It was a great time with great friends. But now, I’m crashing. Life was great. I was on top of the world and nothing could bring me down. I had everything that I wanted in life. But now, I’m crashing. Where have all the people gone? Why am I now all alone? I didn’t know it could all go away like that. And now, I’m crashing. |

Yep, the crashing always follows. You've expressed it well. I suppose the wisest thing to do is too realize that we can't control it and to avoid it, whatever it may be.....unless it is poetry of course! Denise |

~And I'm available. (to talk). Feel for you. Sending strength. Expressed well. *Peace. *I read somewhere around here that "the poem is not always the poet" (or something like that),...and I believe in that wholly, (but something about this stings), so if'n I'm mistaken in being concerned, accept my apologies please. *Peace, peace and more peace. |

Interesting piece. I must say, you ahve a wide variety of writing. as spitfire says, I hope it isn't you that's going through this. if it is, i'm also here to talk. Thanks for the read, it's interesting following your pieces. "Forget regret, or life is yours to miss. No other course, no other way... No day but today" ~Broadway Musical RENT~ *Cassandra Roseen* |

I guess this must be getting to be something of a broken record, but I do hope that you are not the one to experience this. There is one angle that I don't think that others have looked at. I may be trivializing the whole writing by stating myopinion, so I will e-mail it to you. If you find my opinion credible, I will aloow you to post it. Good write, may God be with you. |

Well Maverick Wolf, your opinion is an interesting one. I will say that it in no way trivializes what I was writing about. I think that your view that I'm crashing from a "social interaction high" is a very interesting viewpoint. Thank you for the input. |

Being extreme about anything usually leads to the 'crashing' you speak of. The social aspect Maverick Wolf spoke of is also a particually hard one when it comes to crashing. You have to balance things just right, not too much or too little, because either one can leave you broken in the end. Just a few thoughts, good post, nice show of raw emotion and feeling. *Krista Knutson* I'm a slow dying flower In a frost-killing hour The sweet turning sour and untouchable... -Natalie Merchant |

Night_Myst Good write whether real or not. The trouble I find with crashing is that the pieces shatter off when they hit the floor and then they are so hard to find when you need to put yourself back together. *HuGS* Kethry Those of us who refuse to risk and grow get swallowed up by life. Very realistic... and very true when you say "Where have all the people gone? Why am I now all alone? I didn’t know it could all go away like that. And now, I’m crashing." I think addiction has very much to do with lonleyness, thank you for this good poem, Agust P. |
