Listening to every heart

The Letter of Love

"Happy New Year,
my darling,
may all future days
be cast in light
may all your dreams
wish you good nights…"

his love letter spoke
of dreams to come
he wrote to her
of chrysanthemums
that would in her
garden grow

as would the glow
in her heart

"Happy New Year,
my darling,"

laid before her eyes,
the sound of his voice
in her ears, reprised,
and she saw there
in memory's blue eyes
the look of her
in love with wise

she glanced again
at his strong scrawl
the message of love
sent across the walls
of timeless pall
to her

So sure
had he been
his future was bright
all he could see
was her in
his nights

and she recalled
the last time he was near,

"Happy New Year,
my darling"
his voice resplendent
as he had draped her neck
with a silver pendant

"Happy New Year,
my love"
she whispered low
and in soft of candle
light's glow
she fingered the
treasure draped on
her neck
and picked up the
article of the car wreck

"Happy New Year,
my beloved"
she whispered,
through tears
"I miss you so,
these many years"

and at the stroke of twelve
she sought
the sound of his voice
that her memory wrought

"Happy New Year,
my darling
may all future days
be cast in light
may all your dreams
wish you good nights…"

be careful tonight my Passion friends

And a very HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU my friend.  This was a wonderful piece to read right now....sort of fit my mood perfectly.  Now don't go setting any records for partying tonight, just do it with the grace and subtleness that you do everything else with so well.

How careful?  Wait now just a little fun you know weeenie teeenie bit! NO DRIVING WHILE DRINKING? Maybe no driving at all would be in order as it would be easy to become a victim of a drunk driver's mistake
This is so sad but so romantically beautiful from the letter to the necklace...what a tragedy what a wonderful write!!

Now WHY did you want to make me cry this morning...This was so sweet and then so sad. A good message for all to remember though, about being careful on the roads.
My champagne bottle and I are staying home.
I wish you a happy day every day in the new year

unless a meteorite hits the house I'm safe - going nowhere - and don't expect to imbibe any alcohol - Your poem is so beautiful - I almost missed the car wreck (clearly it could be another poem without it) nonetheless a great cautionary piece
