If I were but the moon above, ...I'd wrap you in my glow, Kiss you lightly on the brow, ...and on your heart bestow, The splendor of far mountains high, ...soft hush of evening's breeze, The beauty of a springtime dawn, ...the warmth of tropic seas, But such a wish would be for naught, ...as all my gifts would fail, For beauty of the moon itself, ...next to thee Rose, would pale.
