Will You Come to Me? Softly as the willow rustles, will you call to me? Will I hear your whispering voice dance through the swaying tree? Will my name pass magically through softness of your lips As tranquilly as willow leaves through evening breezes slip? Sweetly as the raindrops putter, will you come to me? In quietness of midnight drizzle , tip toe silently Will you find me waiting in the music of the rain Which taps a song so lovingly upon my window pane? Gently as a petal tumbles, will you touch my face? Will you hold me tenderly in yearning’s warm embrace? I can hear the willow branches swishing endlessly On this night of gentle raindrops, will you come to me? Elizabeth Santos |

Forgive me - but I HAD to do this: As soft as baby hair falls, I would call to you You will hear my whispered words breathed 'neath the gnarled yew Your name, my magic, I will breathe gently in your ear As tranquil ripples spread when a pool is joined to a tear Soft as a summer rainfall, would I come to you As drops run down your window, as silent as birds flew Will I find you waiting by the fire's rosy glow Crackling out its hearth borne warmth upon your cheeks just so? As gently as a downy feather, I would stroke your face That you would know my yearning as we tenderly embrace For your loving words reach out to me, gentle as the dew As soft as baby hair falls, I would call to you (need I say - I LOVED your poem?) |

Don't you just hate it when someone's response poem is so much more beautiful than the one you posted? Marge does that to me sometimes and now Bill with an exquisite poem that should in itself be posted. I do thank you ,Bill, for that beautiful poem and I thank you all for such kind and encouraging responses. (Only kidding about hating it. It is an honor if my poem inspired yours) Liz |
