Almost two years ago, even before these forums came into existence, I penned a poem for two very special people to help celebrate their first "real world" meeting.  Though linked by virtual passion, they were separated by no less than an ocean (the literal kind), and their first face-to-face was long anticipated. They met, realizing a dream and cementing a love. And then they parted. Life doesn't always give us smooth, straight roads and it is only now, nearly two years and many bumps later, that these two people have at last traversed the curves they were thrown.

A few days from now, that ocean will again be crossed. At the end of a very long flight, this time in the opposite direction, two people will again meet and realize their dream.

And, once again, I wish them the very best.

Cyber Seas

Nomadic sailors set adrift,
Faceless names in failing ships,
Endless paths through endless seas,
Sailing through infinities.

Two bows brush in darkest night,
Two hands touch in briefest flight,
Two souls meet unwittingly,
Small islands in a cyber sea.

A lantern lit by dual consent,
A ray of light both never meant,
Small beacon few can understand,
In search of welcome distant land.

Two boats joined in single ship
By hearts upon a common trip,
No longer faceless entities,
One island in a cyber sea.

This was a very special time, indeed... and these are two equally special people - both original Passions folk... This was such a wonderful poem, I had to add my two cents as well...

You two - Have a totally splendiferous time... Luv ya!!!

Cyber Seas II

Two ships once foundering by night,
Mainsails enjoined, light winds' delight.
Two reefs of sand one cyber isle
With hearts resounding, vibratile.

One lantern yields enlightenment
Held tandemly by night's descent.
A beacon from twilight to morn
Eternally, new journeys born.

No distant land may lie beyond;
All shores succumb to common bond.
Sojourn as one, with sail a'furl,
The sea shall hold no hidden pearl.

Adventure hence from worldly mere,
Life's trek from cyber sea to sphere
To sail new trails as life may wend
The quest as one, a rainbow's end.

ENJOY YOUR TIME TOGETHER, H & C...

"Two boats joined in single ship
By hearts upon a common trip,"

This is lovely Ron ... what a wonderful story!  Though I do not know who these fortunate people are ... you've captured the anticipation and reunion beautifully through these words. A hearty "Bon Voyage" and happy sailing to them both ... until they meet again soon ...

Best wishes,
/Kit

Wonderful poem!!! I had no idea it was written for them. And now, today, she leaves to meet him...I pray that this works out and can't wait to hear their happy news if it does!! They deserve this.

At last report, our Passionate couple is about to embark upon the journey of their lifetime... "C" is leaving London this morning to spend the day in a state of sheer apprehensive bliss... and "H" is boarding a plane in the US later today to transport her to England...

Don't forget to check in, you two...

Hi guys
Lemme see...I've just gotten him out of the room so I can type this without feeling like such a dork! (not to mention  I'm seriously annoyed by this British keyboard!).
Our reunion was all that I expected, but really so much more. I realised what true love is. Finally. After 31 years.
I have such a short time left now here with him. I have no clue how I will make it on my trip home. *sigh*
I have been treated like a princess. His family is wonderful, I think I'll keep the whole lot.
We went to a traditional English pub last night on New Year's Eve, danced and drank and suffered this morning lemme tell ya what! But wow can those Brits party! *wink*
Later!
~H

And to Colin, thanks for showing me what real love is. And for being so patient. I can think of no-one who would have been in your shoes and stayed anywhere near me.
Was it worth the wait my love?

as always
YOUR
Heather

Hi everyone

First of all, please accept my apologies for not replying more fully earlier, but (humble bows to Nan) there are times when brevity is called for

I would like to thank Ron and Nan for their beautiful tributes to the love I am fortunate enough to share with Heather.

Thankyou, also, to all who wished Heather and I good fortune for our all too brief time together.

OK, enough preamble I think. Heather and I had a wonderful time with each other. We shared life in all its fullness for ten days and, all in all, the vacation could be described as an overwhelming success

Thanks again, everyone for all your kind wishes. Now, why not head over to announcements (if I type them before you read this) and look for posts by Eric Williams and Colin.

Oh..... and if you were thinking of heading over to adult..................

Ron

I came across this again in the archives. One day I hope to have this printed with your permission on some very special invitations...err..cards..I'm insane..I've decided that.

I will not bend to the cowardice of a silent judgement.

what a wonderful matchmaker experience. Life is good with poems and better with good friends and best when all are happy.

I wonder how they are doing now.
