Among Nights Of Fire And Phrase |

Among Nights Of Fire And Phrase I never caught, I couldn't catch, I didn't save your tears. I was bare then and running, shouting lyrics all mulberry waxed and heated, in strides of reason, in streets untamed. It was quiet through the wind and I think my smile, half breathing, answered for losing just the one of you, the birthstone of a candied year, what an accomplishment! And when shade rests on the face of youth it's a painful truth that you're undone. I saved the green all dried and earth sticks fragile with age, with history. I saved the finger lockings on cotton treasure, I saved a thought roll or two. And I could see through to the ocean floor when you spoke like that, I could sense the danger in your unknown, in the inability to understand my gig card mentality. Was I available for questioning when you doubted for that one second that I would see the sky? I try like hell to spring, to live, to laugh with you. I'd play guitar in the snow and wash the sores with song, I knew what went on. I grew up and down a dozen times since then, I felt a thousand souls beneath my feet and saved a tear or two for one of you but lost it on the way. Are you proud of who I am, are you lost in who you are? Tracing little footsteps, dirty. Old chemical smiles and empty love, to lost, in quiet,...in life, among nights of fire, and phrase. |

Fire, I love this, it is so smooth. I particularly like "I grew up and down a dozen times since then" write on, be strong Keth Religion is for people frightened about going to hell - Spirituality is for people who have been there. Anon. |

time to retreat to my metaphorical porch and take a closer look at this poem, wow a lot to think about here, reads like a masterclass in life. Wonderfully written poem. < !signature--> In the morning I am a recluse, lost in memory, ideal situations and convulsions... I, like Brian, have retreated to the porch...to analyze why I'm in a mood now after reading this. I like those that put me in a mood. |

Brother isn't that the bottom line (s)! Are you proud of who I am, are you lost in who you are? Great piece of writing. |
