A namesake kin a Mother's touch
the breath of life her endless love.
Her swelling dreams the growing watch
through Mother's gifts we gain a spot.

Like an open moon she leaves her mind.
Like a common poet her reasons rhyme.
The burden light we tow the line
for Mother's love we make the time.

His master's voice wound up to spin
played yesterday and fashioned friends
and Mother's breast held fantasies
were playgrouds where young hearts were free
and Jolson's made me love you lines
were heard when newborn infants cried.

Dear Mother's care pursues on call
like sun shines through a waterfall.
Like snow melts in the suns of spring
above all things like Mother's wing.

His master's voice wound up to spin
played lovesongs to young mothers when
golden dawns brought rays of peace
and candlelight brought easy sleep.
The rhapsodies flowed through the point
with analogs for Mother's joy.

Lying words disguised as wise
fall on Mother's love that never dies!
Her best taught practise then abides
with her dear love the guiding light!

His Master's voice is taken from my recollection of an old RCA Victor wind-up gramaphone record player that my great grandmother had in her parlour. Back in those days the purchaser recived a statue of a Dalmation dog with his ear cocked toward the huge horn on the machine.....listening to His Master's Voice...my mother used to listen to that thing for hours and so the memories flow from her to this page as she is just nicely 77 yrs young.

Such an old world quality and touch, reminiscent of many early 1900 works...this touched me as you knew it would, and for that, I thank you, Sir...

You are absoulutely excellant at this, and do I love it, yes I do. You are a real master, and when ever you write as well as this I get goosebumps. (No it's not because it's cold! It is but not here in the hospital it's like a sauna)

Ethome,

Beautiful memories for you and your Mom.  I see where your talent comes from my friend.

Merry Christmas to you both!

For you to be able to write this piece I know that it had to be felt not only in your heart but flowing through your veins as well because the purity and love of life flow in your words straight to the essence of motherhood.  Excellent write my friend but that doesn't surprise me in the least.

This is truely a wonderful poem! I have an old magnet on my frig that belonged to my grandmother. It is a replica of the RCA wind up gramaphone.
How special moms and grandmas are. Be sure and give her lots of hugs, she sounds like a real treasure.
