Fences

I gaze about the landscape
of my mind
and see open spaces
letting my thoughts wander
unhindered
across hills of dreams
and valleys of emotions
without fences
or posted warnings…
the only fence remaining
is the one upon
which I sit.

I loved the metaphor, being a nature lover I could sense the freedom in this and the openness.  Thank you for sharing this.

Thanks Irish and nakd.

My mom always said that if a person sits on the fence long enough (a position of undecidedness) they will sooner or later fall off and maybe on the wrong side!

RobertB~
Your Grandmother was a smart lady.

This is really a 'thinker' poem ...
Good show.

Beautifully done!!!  Vivid!  Must one get off the fence?  Wouldn't one, then, mar the scenery, fill it with footprints of choices made, doubted, remade?  But then, how does anything happen without change?

You've written a thought-provoking piece, you see.
