CRY OF THE DAMNED < !signature-->Hear the voices singing, singing Eerily in mind, the ringing Of the dead or of the dying Calling to me, crying, crying… From the sorrow of another Dimension far beyond this; “I feel your woe, whimsical brother, But stand long in light of this… Atrocity – What are the reasons For such undue outpourings of Felicity? In these, your seasons Of unwarranted, unrequited love.” “Dance in dance, all dreamers swaying, Of the smiling dead, portraying Hope in some immortal fashion To this helpless, hopeless passion.” Again the voices call, “Arise! Heed now this message; Believe You in trust of misguided eyes, ‘Tis not for life but Death you grieve.” And so I sit, aimlessly ponder The riddles of this pagan curse, Watching the soulless soul I squander Wither away in dying verse. Michael Anderson But dreams of those who dream as I, Aspiringly, are damned and die. EAP [This message has been edited by Michael (edited 11-20-2000).] |

Oh Michael...this is wrenching... Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. KRJ |

Yes, it brought to mind Poe, whom I dearly love and others. I would rather read something like this than all the modern poetry written in the last 20 years. Bravo! "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |

This is a really deep and depressing poem. It is very much like Poe, and I enjoyed it just as much. Thanks for sharing. "Where there is great love there are always miracles" -Cather "Love heals everything, and love is all there is"- Zukav |

Wonderful Michael ... the emotions you capture out of the depths simply amaze me. I think I've walked the path this speaks to me of ... I've lived the life of the walking-dead, and it's a long and oh so lonely path. Incredible writing with such deep melodic tones Michael, so good to read you again! Best wishes, /Kit |

"Believe You in trust of misguided eyes" ~~ particularly enjoyed this line. Hello Michael, this piece, though dark, is poetically illuminating. I enjoyed your form and method. Thank you ~ Rainydays |

“I feel your woe, whimsical brother, But stand long in light of this… ================= Felicity? Sunshine... Uh, is that good?...LOL Mattster, Heck of a complimnet there, TY. Irish Rose, Ah, Poe bled his flavor into me as a youth though I could never match such a master I know. Still, I am with you so far as the so called "modern" poetry all the way. To me, in many ways, it seems as if they've slaughtered an art form and in their own ignorance proclaimed it art. Love Bug, so glad you enjoyed. Kit, I believe we all walk this path at one time or another... PaulF, nice to meet you. Hope to read some of your own poetry soon - welcome to Passions... Rainydays, yeah - that line was probably one of my favorites too... glad you enjoyed. Kethry, to me, poetry is the voice of the soul. When poetry is dead, so shall we all be. Corinne, yeah, been looking for that muse for quite awhile now, I knew she couldn't have completely abandoned me... JM, glad you enjoyed the switching up on form throughout this one - just felt like doing something I hadn't ever tried before I guess... PdV, I am just a poet among many, many wonderful poets here and truly I would never aspire to be thought of as more than a friend to any of you, but thank you dearly. Amy, Indeed, it's the Dark where I am truly at home... Thank you all for the kind replies, Michael |

Michael, I would agree with everyone and say this reminded me of Poe but it didn't....it simply reminded me of YOU...and to that there is no comparison my friend. Good to see your work again...( I was beginning to have Michael withdrawals LOL |
