Big Flakes

Big flakes
Falling slowly
Bringing the beauty
Of winter
Christmas beauty
Snow for Santa’s sleigh

The fall grows thicker
I can almost see them
Growing bigger
As they float down

The street is unusually quiet
Everyone must be working
Or shopping
Still...
I imaging I hear
Their fall
More gentle than feathers

A symphony of white
More like an unplugged
Guitar Concerto

Maybe tomorrow
When I hear tires screaming
See old ladies struggling
To walk their groceries home
When traffic and chimneys
Has spoiled this carpet
I’ll look at this blessing
With different eyes
But I doubt it
Thank you God

When we do the best that we can, we never know what miracle is
wrought in our life, or in the life of another.

Awesome write my friend and I do believe that a card I got in the mail yesterday fits you and this perfectly.  It said on the front face of it..."Slow down enough to hear the snow fall" and I do believe that you have.  Beautiful penning sir and may you have the merriest of the holidays.

Thank you for a peek into your winter wonderland. All I see is tree limbs bending in the wind, letting their leaves fall to the ground. No snow for us!

Mark - inot2B -
at the time I wrote this the scene from my window was quite beautiful - and I envisioned the 'blanket' to come - within a few minutes - it stopped - and I'm still praying for a White Christmas - Thank you both - I'm still glad I wrote it.

*sigh* oh yes the magic of Christmas snow. *sigh* how simple delightful and you know it does almost have a sound as it floats to the ground. I add my prayers to yours for a White Christmas. I am blessed as we do have snow with all the beauty it brings us. Much love and Christmas hugs to you from me.

Love I leave with you my friend whether it be in your life or of yet the essense of your dreams. http://path2riches.com

When I saw the title, I thought perhaps you had written something political and then I discovered you have a talent to detail the picturesque... a wonderfully written poem.  Bob <><

Mr. Yeats, if I can, I shall send you the White Christmas...for it shall be here...and I hope it shall be for you, too

To everyone -
The anticipated 'blanket of white' never materialized - all we're left with here is a deep bone-chillin' cold.  I still give thanks - for reduced Christmas accidents  and the promise that each day will bring new blessings

Kaile - Martie -
Still lacking the blanket of white here but I don't think I'd want it if I still had to commute - the cold is bone chilling however - and some California warm would be most welcome
