My love should you die before I must go
We'll not give grief any measured response
For it could be me and we'll feel the same
Life is not love -love's an eternal flame

Life is but dust or chaff from the wheat
Vaporous water or leaves in the wind
And we're swept along in all times pages
Yet our love remains confounding the sages

More like the constellations is our love
In timeless presence looking at the stars
Sailing through the sky and all the ages
Not confined by planets or by cages

So death is not a morbid thought you see
For our love will live on through eternity

Great souls have wills; feeble ones have only wishes.

I like your ideas about death. Love doesn't die just the bodies.
This is how my husband and I feel about it.
We said forever.
Our essence will remain one.
Earth bound union ceased..

Thank you all - every so often - such 'deathly' thoughts come by - and I cannot put them down without putting a bit of a positive spin on them
