WANTED
Someone to believe
That forever is for real
That happily ever after
Isnt a fairy tale dream

WANTED
Someone to believe
That dancing in the rain
And sleeping under the stars
Isnt just for kids

WANTED
Someone to believe
That holding hands at the mall
And kissing in the movies
Isnt something better left to teens

WANTED
Someone to believe
That you can accomplish anything
That committment isnt a ball and chain
But a set of wings

WANTED
Someone
Someone to believe
In me

I know exactly how you feel.  It is difficult to find someone that still believes.  I know because I still haven't found one or better one that would stick around long enough.  Sigh... Es la vida....  That is life, I guess.  I am still hoping and dreaming.  Maybe she is still out there.  Wonderfully written.  I truly enjoyed it.

Hey I read the responses to this and I think you have a few you can check out.
I told my honey that I would be here for him forever and a day. As long as he doesn't want me to camp out under the stars. My idea of camping is in a nice motel with indoor plumbing. He agreed and we've been at it for over 30 years. Hope you find someone as good as I got.

You've become quite a seasoned little sage as these marvelous words of wisdom seem to fill up your verses lately.....I have to say, I don't like the word committment when it comes to a relationship between two people....the word is fine for a career and other personal goals...but I believe a committment grows between two people as time goes on...I have this terrible fear that if a person is searching for a committment that they are searching for something for themselves and not love...I can't put the two words together and come up with anything I like...but you know that's just weird old me and the way I look at things...I do know one thing that I'd be looking for love and not committment because love is the greatest element of all lasting relationships and over time two become committed to each other....that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Walt...well dude go kiss her LOL thanks

ethome...I think of committment as a willingness to give your all to something...and that includes love...you can love someone, and yes love has to come first, but love takes a lot of work to keep it fresh and new. Oh I think I understand where you are coming from on this...the word committment sounds harsh, and unfeeling, and love surely does have to come first

I guess I just can't stand to hear people say things like "I'm looking for committment" it just turns me off but realize this that in no way am I undermining the beautiful heart content of this fine poem you have written!

You do have an effective way with words, Paula!  Your poems always move me.
Not so long ago, I would never have placed myself as a candidate for a want ad such as this.  Just recently, however, I learned that the feelings and the actions that you speak of are a part of almost every person.  It just takes the right two people to meet to unlock them.
Commitment comes not as a trait or a willingness, but as a need.  A year ago, I would no sooner have walked beneath the stars as I would have walked among them.  Today, I would capture a star and bring it home to her, if I could.

He's out there, my friend... and he will find you, I'm sure.

ethome...well when its said like that it does sound bad babes...but being committed to your love, being committed to that ONE person...thats not harsh or ugly...thats giving all you have, all you are, and all you can be...to that one special love...and I know you werent criticizing

Trev...whenever you honour me with a reply it always touches my heart...thank you

Rich...thank you I am glad you liked it
